Veterans Day at Washington Crossing National Cemetery
Each year, the Guardians of the National Cemetery gather at Washington Crossing National Cemetery (WCNC) to honor all men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces. Situated just a few miles from where General Washington and his troops historically crossed the Delaware River to change the course of the Revolutionary War, WCNC rests on ground steeped in the history of American liberty, a fitting place to pay tribute to service and sacrifice across every generation.
The ceremony opens with a live rendition of the national anthem, followed by the presentation of colors by the Guardians Color Guard. Together, they set a solemn and dignified tone for the tribute that follows.
Local veterans who have gone above and beyond in service to their country will be recognized with Congressional awards, honoring their extraordinary contributions and sacrifice.
