Washington Crossing National Cemetery
NO VETERAN SHOULD TAKE THEIR FINAL JOURNEY ALONE
From January through October, Washington Crossing National Cemetery hosts an Unaccompanied Service on the last Thursday of each month for veterans who, for whatever reason, do not have family members present for their final committal service.
The Guardians of the National Cemetery have the privilege of rendering military honors as the final salute they earned through their service to our country.
When there is no family present, our community has the opportunity to step forward, be present, and ensure these veterans are not forgotten. In addition, a member of the community is chosen in advance to receive the American flag on behalf of the family, representing our collective gratitude for their service and sacrifice.
Consider joining us as our community comes together to honor these veterans, pay tribute to their service, and ensure their final journey is met with the dignity and respect they earned.
We ask participants to line up behind the Admin building around 1:35 pm, and we will process as a group to the committal shelter.
