Gregory Ritz - Treasurer - US Army
Born and raised in Newark, NJ, Gregory Ritz relocated to the area in
1963. He graduated from Bishop Egan High School in 1969 and earned an Associate Degree in Business from Pierce Junior College, where he served as President of Sigma Gamma Omega Fraternity. After working as a credit administrator for a year, he was drafted into the U.S. Army in June 1972. Gregory served as a Company Clerk at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL, before being assigned to Command Headquarters in
Stuttgart, Germany. He earned the Army Commendation Medal for
meritorious performance of duty as a Private Association Clerk and was
discharged in June 1974 as an SP4.
Following his military service, Gregory earned a BS in Business
Administration and an MBA in Finance from Rider University, graduating
magna cum laude. He became a Certified Public Accountant, passing the
exam on his first attempt, and built a 40-year career in accounting
and finance, retiring in 2014 as CFO. He has also served as Finance
Officer for American Legion Post 317 in Yardley.
Gregory joined the Guardians of the National Cemetery Honor Guard in
2018 and currently serves as Treasurer. As Treasurer, Gregory ensures
The Guardian Foundation conducts its financial affairs with
accountability and transparency. He assists the Board in maintaining a
fiduciary responsibility to the financial supporters of the Guardians
organization and is deeply committed to supporting the Guardians’
mission, strengthening the organization’s ability to honor veterans
and preserve their legacy through dedicated service.
