Honor Guard

Becoming a Member of the Honor Guard

Qualified applicants must be honorably discharged veterans. They will complete 30 hours of training, after which they will be certified and assigned to a team. Each team serves on a designated day of the week, with duties from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Lunch is provided, and both summer and winter uniforms will be issued free of charge.

Responsibilities include:

  • Learning proper weapon handling

  • Loading and unloading the weapon

  • Folding the American flag

  • Presenting the American flag

Occasionally, the military may not be informed of a mission, and the Honor Guard may be asked to fold and present the flag to the veterans’ next of kin. We consider this a great honor and take pride in performing this duty.

If you are interested in joining, please complete the attached form, and the Commander will contact you shortly.
