John Hughes - Secretary - US Navy

John Hughes proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1973 to 1976, including participating in the evacuation of Vietnam. After his military service, he earned a degree in Criminology from St. Joseph’s University (1976–1980) and began his career in public service with the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office (1980–1983). He then spent 24 years as an FBI agent (1983–2007), followed by a leadership role in Lockheed Martin Security supporting the LM Space Program (2008–2015).

 

John has been a member of the Guardians of the National Cemetery Honor Guard since 2017,  and currently serves on the Board of Directors as Secretary, supporting the organization’s mission of honoring veterans and preserving their legacy. 

 

In addition to his Guardians service, John is a Deacon and Elder at Woodside Presbyterian Church, reflecting his ongoing commitment to service and leadership in the community. His life exemplifies dedication to duty, integrity, and the values of service and sacrifice.
