Honoring Unaccompanied Service Members at Washington Crossing National Cemetery

WCNC recognizes the service and sacrifice of unaccompanied service members, those without immediate family to be present at their burial. This solemn event is hosted and organized by the Guardians of the National Cemetery to ensure these veterans do not take their final journey alone and are laid to rest with dignity and respect.

Ceremonies include reflection on each veteran’s service and military honors provided by the Honor Guard during interment. Guardians and volunteers work together to make certain that every service member is honored and remembered.
