Honoring the Life and Service of Horace L. "Skip" Mundy, Jr. (Click Here)

Horace L. “Skip” Mundy, Jr. Retired Philadelphia Police Officer and Active Guardian of the National Cemetery Tuesday Team of Newtown, PA died peacefully on Thursday, November 30, 2023 at St. Mary Medical Center.  He was 77.

Skip was the beloved husband of 47 years to Marianne Jordan Mundy.

Born in Philadelphia, PA he was the son of the late Horace L., Sr. and Margaret Haag Mundy.

Skip was a proud Army Veteran of the Vietnam War who continued with service to others by becoming a Philadelphia Police Officer and later after the establishment of Washington Crossing National Cemetery, he became a Guardian of the Cemetery and was a member of Tuesday’s Team.  When not devoting himself to serving the community and honoring fellow veterans, Skip enjoyed spending time with his beloved family and creating memories with them that will last eternally in their hearts and minds.  Skip will be greatly missed but forever loved and remembered by everyone who had the pleasure to have been in his life and loved by him.

In addition to his beloved wife Marianne, Skip is survived by his sons, David T. Mundy and his wife Tracy of Philadelphia and Steven Mundy and his wife Lisa of Philadelphia.  He is also survived by his adoring grandchildren: Colin, Casey, Jordan, and Corinne, his brothers Joseph and Robert Mundy, his sister Margaret Plier, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Skip’s family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 from 9:30am until his Funeral Service 11:30AM in the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Road (at Holland Rd.) Richboro, PA 18954.  His interment with Military Funeral Honors rendered by the United States Army and the Members of the Tuesday Team of the Guardians of the National Cemetery will follow at Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Newtown.
