Robert Lee Winn of Yardley passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2023. He was 79 years old.
He was the beloved husband of Carolyn D. Winn; loving father of Robert E. Winn (Samantha), Lisa Winn, and David L. Winn (Susan); grandfather of Maggie, Carie, David, Ingrid, and Freya; brother of the late James J. Winn, and Kathleen Maule.
Robert was born in Philadelphia, PA in 1944. He graduated from Thomas Edison High School and served in the United States Army, including a tour of duty in Germany during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged from the Army in the summer of 1966, and was hired by PECO Energy Company as a Lineman. At the time of his retirement, he was a Power Quality Technician.
Roberts sense of fun, his love of nature, and his ability to tell a good story provided a warm and joyful environment for his family to whom he was devoted. He loved his grandchildren dearly and cherished time spent with them.
Robert had an authentic ability to connect with people, and he used this skill to build many lasting friendships through his involvement at Calvary Baptist Church, particularly by volunteering at Boys Brigade, teaching boys Sunday school, serving as a deacon and elder, and driving a bus for college students who attended the church.
Recently, Robert served as a volunteer Honor Guard with the Guardians of the National Cemetery at the Washington Crossing National Cemetery.
Above all, he strove to be a faithful disciple of his Savior Jesus Christ in thought, word, and deed.
Friends and family are invited to Roberts Life Celebration on Thursday, December 28, 2023, from 10:00-11:00am at Calvary Baptist Church, 250 Green Lane, Bristol, PA 19007. His Memorial Service will follow at 11:00am.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in his name to the Missions Fund at Calvary Baptist Church (calvarybristol.org/) or Hope Walks (hopewalks.org/brightfuture).
