Honoring the Life and Service of Terry Sherk (Click Here)

Updated: Mar 8

Terry A. Sherk, 76, a Veteran of the Vietnam War and longtime resident of Langhorne, PA, passed away Friday, November 3rd, 2023. He was the beloved companion of Barbara A. Rosenberg.

Born July 28th, 1947 in Harrisburg, PA, he was a son of the late John William Sherk & Armenta Mae (Churchey) Sherk.

After Terry’s service in the Navy he became a master mechanic, working primarily on diesel rigs and his personal favorite hot rods. Terry had a great appreciation for music with a particular love for Americana Country; when visiting Terry at the shop one would often hear sounds of impact wrenches softened by the blues vocals of Hank Williams Senior, Elvis, and many other greats.

Terry filled his life with many great passions including traveling to far off countries with Barbara, playing golf with his family and friends, dedicating his time volunteering as a Guardian of the National Cemetery Washington Crossing, and being a proud Sgt. at Arms of the VFW Yardley Post 6393.

Terry was a man of quiet compassion who availed himself to anyone in need of an ear, a laugh, or even the changing of brake pads to help those in his life save some money and time. Terry was a man who showed up for anyone who asked, especially his ever-growing family.

He took great joy in spending time with his grandchildren and was proud of all their accomplishments. Terry was colloquially known as a stand-up guy, who found great satisfaction in being there for others. His life was one of service to all those he loved.

Survivors include four sons, Stewart Sherk (Stacy), Stephan Sherk, Justin Rosenberg (Heather), and Adam Rosenberg; seven grandchildren, Taylor, Madison, Elliott, Margot, Samantha, Ellie, and Aidan; and three siblings, John Sherk (Gerri), Bonnie Stuart (Allen), and Jean Houck.

Relatives and friends are invited to his graveside service on, Wednesday, November 15, 2023 10:30am at Washington Crossing National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Terry’s name can be made to VFW Post 6393, 1444 Yardley Newtown Rd Yardley, PA 19067, or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, https://www.stjude.org/
