Daniel F. Madden of Newtown, PA died on Friday, August 30, 2013, at St. Mary Medical Center, Langhorne, Surrounded by his family and friends. He was 69 years young.

He was the beloved husband and best friend of Nancy E. McLaughlin Madden. They shared 30 wonderful years of Marriage.


Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Daniel L. and Loretta R. Trainor Madden.


Mr. Madden was a resident of Newtown for the past 14 years and formerly lived in Philadelphia. For 30 years he was employed as a truck driver for the U.S. Postal Service. He retired in October 2012. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army having served in the Vietnam War and was an active member of the Guardians of Washington Crossing National Cemetery. He was a member of Veteran of Foreign Wars Post # 6393 in Yardley, PA. His passion was biking and he was a member of Central Bucks Bicycle Club. He used his love of cycling to support many charitable causes, including the American Cancer Society, the Wounded Warrior Project, and the Gift Ride at Christ Home with fellow members of the bike club. He was a decent, honorable, and generous man. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife, his family, and his many, many friends.


In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Frank J. Sheahan and his wife, Nadine, of Horsham, PA, and two brothers, Timothy Madden and his wife, Barbara, of Tampa, FL and Michael Madden and his wife, Karen, of Marlton, NJ. He is also survived by his three beloved granddaughters, Tyler Anne, Molly, and Livia Sheahan.


Relatives and friends are invited to call on Monday, September 9, from 10:30 AM until his Funeral Mass 12:00 Noon at the Church of Saint Andrew, 81 Swamp Road, Newtown, PA 18940.


Interment with military honors will take place at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown.


In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, P. O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675.
